VinFast accelerates India expansion with 24 new dealerships and a 400-acre Tamil Nadu EV plant in the works

Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has strengthened its footprint in India by opening 24 new dealerships across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune. This expansion is part of VinFast’s plan to establish 35 retail outlets by the end of 2025, marking a major step in its India growth strategy.

Each dealership follows VinFast’s global retail standards, offering a modern and premium customer experience with digital displays, interactive zones, and full-service support. The move aligns with India’s goal of achieving 30% EV penetration by 2030, while making VinFast’s vehicles more accessible to customers nationwide.

To complement its retail presence, VinFast is developing a comprehensive EV ecosystem through partnerships with myTVS, RoadGrid, Castrol India, and Global Assure, covering charging infrastructure, after-sales service, and roadside assistance.

Meanwhile, construction is progressing at VinFast’s 400-acre manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, which will assemble models like the VF 6 and VF 7. The facility will have an initial production capacity of 50,000 units per year, scalable up to 150,000, and is expected to generate 3,000-3,500 direct jobs while supporting thousands more indirectly.

VinFast’s India entry is part of its global expansion beyond Southeast Asia and North America. By combining local manufacturing, extensive dealership reach, and customer-first innovation, VinFast aims to position itself as a premium yet accessible EV brand for India’s fast-growing electric mobility market.
