Tata Motors has announced a big expansion in its EV charging network for small commercial vehicles (SCVs). The company has signed agreements with 13 different charging-point operators (CPOs) to install and run an additional 25,000 public chargers over the next 12 months. This comes on top of the 25,000 public chargers that are already available for SCVs today.

These chargers will be spread across many cities and will be shown on Tata’s connected vehicle app, Fleet Edge, so users can see in real time where chargers are available and how to reach them. Tata’s SCV electric lineup includes models like the Ace EV, Ace Pro EV, and Ace EV 1000, aimed at urban and semi-urban delivery and cargo tasks.

Tata Motors says more than 10,000 Ace EVs are already in operation, together covering over 6 crore kilometres on the road. This shows increasing trust by transporters and entrepreneurs in electric vehicles for livelihoods. The move is intended to make operating an electric SCV more practical by reducing range anxiety and improving uptime thanks to more charging points.

This step also strengthens Tata’s push toward cleaner logistics and sustainable mobility in India. More chargers mean more opportunity for transport businesses to switch to EVs without worrying too much about where or when they’ll be able to charge.
