Ola Unveils Diamondhead: Electric Superbike Packs 0–100 km/h in 2 Seconds, Launching by 2027 at ₹5 Lakh Ola EV Banner scaled

Ola Electric has unveiled its ambitious Diamondhead electric motorcycle prototype at the Sankalp 2025 event, positioning it as a groundbreaking performance machine in the Indian EV space. The company claims the Diamondhead can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds, placing it among the fastest accelerating bikes globally.

Built using space-grade lightweight materials such as aerospace aluminum, carbon fiber, and magnesium, the Diamondhead balances speed and structural agility. It also features a hub-centre steering system, designed for sharper handling and stability at high speeds.

The design stands out with a diamond-shaped front fairing, complemented by a full-width LED strip and sharp, sleek body panels. The bike adopts clip-on handlebars and a tapering tail for a race-inspired stance.

Ola is bringing advanced safety and ride-assist features to the table. The Diamondhead will be the first motorcycle in India equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, terrain-aware traction control, and ABS.

The Diamondhead also introduces active ergonomics, a system that automatically adjusts handlebars and foot pegs based on riding mode, providing both comfort and control as needed. The broader technology ecosystem includes a Smart AR helmet and connected wearable tech for a seamless riding experience.

Powering this beast is Ola’s in-house Bharat Cell 4680 battery, paired with its AI-driven MoveOS 6 platform and Krutrim AI for optimised performance, efficiency, and safety.

The Gen 4 platform underpins the Diamondhead and offers notable improvements over its predecessor, including a 76% boost in peak power, 25% weight reduction, 15% improved energy efficiency, and a 41% lower cost. It’s compatible with multiple Bharat Cell form factors and supports a variety of motor technologies.

Ola aims to launch the Diamondhead by 2027, targeting an ex-showroom price of under ₹5 lakh. This positions it in direct competition with other high-end Indian electric motorcycles like the Ultraviolette F77, but with added safety and tech innovations.
