Kinetic Green and Exponent Energy unveil 15-minute charging tech for India’s electric three-wheelers

In a major boost for last-mile electrification, Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Ltd. has partnered with Bengaluru-based Exponent Energy to introduce a 15-minute full-charge solution for L3 and L5 electric three-wheelers, including e-rickshaws and cargo loaders. The partnership aims to improve uptime and reduce turnaround time for delivery and passenger fleets across Indian cities.

Under this collaboration, Kinetic Green’s Safar Smart, Safar Shakti, and Super DX models will now support 15-minute charging, extending daily operational hours by nearly 30%. The Safar Jumbo L5N cargo loader and an upcoming L5M passenger variant will also adopt the same fast-charging technology, enabling e-rickshaws and e-carts to get back on the road faster.

Exponent Energy’s rapid-charging ecosystem integrates battery tech, chargers, and software. The system guarantees over 3,000 charging cycles, offers real-time data insights, maintenance alerts, and fleet analytics, and connects seamlessly with Kinetic Green’s fleet management app. Exponent already operates 160 charging stations in four cities, with plans to expand into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets within a year.

Speaking on the launch, Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, said the innovation “empowers small and large fleet operators to achieve unprecedented uptime and efficiency.” At the same time, Arun Vinayak, CEO of Exponent Energy, called it “a blueprint for the future of electric transport.”

The 15-minute charge technology could be a turning point for India’s e-rickshaw and cargo three-wheeler market, enhancing productivity, lowering costs, and accelerating the country’s journey toward zero-emission logistics.
