Bajaj Auto has officially launched its Riki e-rickshaw series, marking its entry into India’s fast-growing electric three-wheeler market. The company says the new product line is designed to support the driver community and solve long-standing challenges such as poor range, unstable chassis, and limited service support that affect current e-rickshaws.

The lineup includes two variants – the Riki P4005 passenger model and the Riki C4005 cargo version. The Riki P4005 is equipped with a 5.4 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 149 km, and is priced at ₹1,90,890 (ex-showroom). The Riki C4005, meanwhile, offers a longer 164 km range, a larger cargo tray, and 28% gradeability, priced at ₹2,00,876 (ex-showroom). Both models feature a monocoque chassis, independent suspension, hydraulic brakes, and a fast-charging time of 4.5 hours, along with a 3-year battery warranty.

Bajaj Auto piloted the Riki series across Patna, Moradabad, Guwahati, and Raipur, and will now roll out sales across 100 towns in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Assam in the first phase. With India’s e-rickshaw market adding over 45,000 units every month, this launch positions Bajaj to capture a major slice of the growing last-mile mobility segment.

The company believes the Riki range will redefine reliability and comfort in the e-rickshaw segment while supporting India’s push toward zero-emission transport and sustainable livelihoods for small drivers and fleet owners.
