Exponent Energy opens first EV-three-wheeler retail outlet in Bengaluru as it expands rapid-charging ecosystem across India

A new chapter is unfolding in India’s EV ecosystem as Exponent Energy launches its first dedicated retail outlet for electric three-wheelers in Bengaluru. This move signals a strategic shift from being a purely charging-infrastructure provider to a full-fledged participant in the EV vehicle retail and retrofit space.

The new store, known as an Exponent Sales Point (ESP), showcases the company’s own line of Exponent-enabled three-wheelers. It also functions as a retrofit centre, allowing existing CNG/LPG-powered passenger autos to be converted into EVs. This “one-stop EV shop” approach aims to lower barriers for small-vehicle owners who want to switch to electric without the hassle of complex paperwork or high upfront costs.

What makes this development stand out is the broader backing of Exponent’s EV energy stack. The company already offers 15-minute rapid charging through its proprietary battery-and-charger system, and its charging network, paired with battery packs giving up to 3,000 charge cycles, has been gaining traction among commercial and fleet operators.

By stepping into retail and retrofit, Exponent is aiming to make electric mobility practical and affordable not just for well-heeled buyers but also for everyday drivers of small vehicles. They plan to expand this retail and retrofit footprint to several more cities in India in the near future.

This could be a meaningful step in India’s EV transition, especially for the vast segment of three-wheel drivers and small-vehicle owners, helping to reduce emissions and improve access as EV infrastructure improves across the country.
