Tata Nexon EV to Get ADAS Upgrade with New Empowered+ A Variant

Tata Motors is getting ready to roll out a major tech and safety upgrade for its best-selling Nexon EV. The company is set to launch a new top-end Empowered+ A variant, which will feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a first for any sub-4-metre electric SUV in India.

The ADAS package brings in features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist with departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, and even a driver drowsiness monitor. Together, these are designed to make highway drives and long commutes much safer and more comfortable.

This variant will be offered on the 45 kWh battery version of the Nexon EV, which delivers around 350 km in real-world range and up to 489 km under test conditions. Pricing is expected to be about ₹75,000 higher than the current Empowered+ trim, putting it in the ₹17.75–₹17.99 lakh bracket. That still keeps it well-positioned against rivals in the segment.

The Nexon EV already enjoys a strong reputation for safety. Its 45 kWh model recently earned a five-star Bharat NCAP rating, with solid scores for both adult and child protection. With ADAS now being added, Tata is aiming to further strengthen its lead in safety and advanced driving tech in India’s EV market.
