EKA Mobility to Launch New Commercial EV Every Six Months, Targets 10,000 E-Buses by FY27 EKA Buses Range 1

EKA Mobility is accelerating its electric vehicle roadmap with an ambitious product rollout. Founder and Chairman Sudhir Mehta announced that the company will launch a new commercial EV every six months. The portfolio will include smaller vehicles, such as 3-seater and 6-seater passenger EVs, three-wheeler cargo carriers, 2.5-tonne cargo vehicles, tippers, and 3.5-tonne trucks, alongside heavy-duty options like 7-tonne and 55-tonne trucks that are already undergoing trials.

Alongside new launches, EKA has set a bold target for its electric bus division. The company aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 10,000 e-buses by FY27. This will be achieved by doubling output at its Koregaon-Bhima plant in Pune to 5,000 units per year, while an additional 5,000 buses will come from a new facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

To sustain this scale-up, EKA is expanding its R&D and technology centre in Pune. The facility will focus on strengthening product development, innovation, and testing capabilities to ensure that new vehicles meet performance and safety benchmarks.

EKA’s strategy fits closely with India’s wider electrification drive. Supported by initiatives like the PM E-DRIVE scheme, which allocates ₹2,000 crore for charging infrastructure, the company is preparing to deliver not just advanced EVs but also the ecosystem required for their adoption. This focus on both product and infrastructure positions EKA as a key player in the country’s commercial EV landscape.
