Tata Motors Powers South India’s EV Travel with 100 New Electric Intercity Buses TATA Mou

Tata Motors has signed a key deal with Green Energy Mobility Solutions (GEMS) to supply 100 electric intercity buses, marking a major step in expanding clean transport between cities. The announcement was made at the Passenger Vehicle Expo 2.0 held in Chennai and reflects Tata’s growing presence in the commercial EV space.

GEMS is a part of Universal Bus Services (UBS), one of South India’s most recognized intercity transport companies. These new electric buses Tata Magna EV coaches will soon join the UBS fleet, helping reduce pollution while offering reliable and comfortable long-distance travel options.

Each Magna EV coach can travel up to 300 kilometers on a single charge, making it ideal for regional routes. The buses come with 44 seats, combining modern electric mobility with passenger convenience.

This move signals a clear shift in India’s public transport system, with companies now focusing on electric fleets to cut emissions and modernize travel. As Tata Motors continues to form strategic partnerships, it’s helping shape a cleaner, more efficient future for mobility in India.
